Recipes are at the heart of outthebox.io’s approach. Just like a recipe for a meal, outthebox.io guides you through the right tools and techniques following a step-by-step process that anyone can follow. Pick the one that you need, and go for it!
I never understood why we are surrounded by recipes and guides that we can use when faced with a complex job that needs doing. Recipes for meals are of course the classic example, but they appear in so many professions and industries too. Doctors follow Pathways depending on the disease they are trying to treat – helping break down the complexity and standardising how patients are treated based on best practice. The same goes for pilots – they use checklists the whole time to deal with the complexity of what they have to deal with.
So why can you not find recipes in business? There are plenty of tools that help with specific business challenges or processes (tracking sales leads, or project planning), but what is there to help guide people through the tricky ‘business’ situations they face daily? How do you approach turning ideas into business reality? How do you become more customer-centric to generate better ideas for solutions? How do you re-invent an internal process to delight everyone that uses it? These can be tough questions to answer, and what’s needed is a guide, a step-by-step set of instructions, a set of tools and a load of techniques that anyone can apply to the challenge they face.
These are all situations that can be helped by innovation. There’s no shortage of innovation processes and tools out there, but knowing which ones to use and in which order is the problem. outthebox.io has brought together the best of the best, and has done the hard work in creating the recipes so that you, or your teams, can apply innovation and creative problem solving in a way that’s simple and enjoyable.
Step-by-step approach that’s fun and makes sense
Our Innovation Recipes are all about being easy to follow. We don’t want you worrying about the process and tools, but to worry about the customer problem you are solving, the solutions you could create, and the business you could prove and develop.
Every recipe comes with an explanation, so you know what you will be doing, and why it works.
It comes with a checklist of things you need to have before you kick things off.
It splits everything down into stages, so that
We have recipes covering:
- BIG Innovation Programs – these take longer, some from around 3 weeks, all the way up to a couple of months. They cover big initiatives like an Idea Accelerator, which you can use to turn an idea into reality, or give everyone access to outthebox.io, point them at the recipe, and get them going!
- The smaller (but equally tricky) things in life – if you work in Marketing, Sales, HR, Strategy or Product Management, you will face situations when you can apply innovation processes and tools. If you need to re-invent the onboarding process for new hires, or re-imagine the value propositoin and messaging for a product you look after, you’ll find something that helps.
So, what are you waiting for? If you want to get going with Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and many other processes, tools and techniques, then sign up!
